Dr. Madeline Taylor has a growing international research profile in contemporary costume practice, with a focus on the emotional intelligence required to collaborate effectively in design realisation, and new tools and technologies. This research draws together her professional expertise, teaching interests and the capabilities she has gained through her involvement in several national and international research projects over the last decade. Her monograph in this area Costumers at Work: The Collaborative Creativity, Emotional Labour, and Technical Skill of Costume Creation was recently published by Routledge. Madeline is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Design at Queensland University of Technology and a co-director of The Stitchery Collective, a design collective focused on the social and cultural aspects of fashion.

Dr. Tessa Rixon is a Senior Lecturer in Scenography at the Queensland University of Technology (Australia), and a practitioner-researcher in digital scenography and Australian performance design. Her research explores the nexus of performance design, sustainability, and technology, and has been published in top-ranked academic journals as well as numerous prestigious international conferences. She is the National Secretary for the Australasian Association for Theatre, Drama and Performance Studies, and curated the Australian Hub for the 2023 International Theatre Engineering & Architecture Conference. Tessa is the Chair of the Research Commission for OISTAT.

Dr. Tanja Beer is an award winning community artist, ecological designer and creative researcher. Since 2011, Tanja has been focused on the development of ecological arts practices and across spatial design, theatre and community arts. Tanja's key research interests are in the realm of expanded scenography and sustainability, founding the concept of ‘ecoscenography’ to explore novel and environmentally inspiring approaches for performance design.
Tanja is Co-director of The Performance + Ecology Research Lab (P+ERL) at Griffith University, QLD.

Imogen Ross is an eco-scenographer, writer and educator with an established track record in embedding environmentally sustainable practices and thinking. A graduate of Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and University of New England (UNE), she has worked as a live performance and event designer for over 30 years across Australia and London, on numerous plays, musicals, dance pieces and new works.
In her ongoing role at Australian Production Design Guild, Imogen reports quarterly on environmentally aware strategies and opportunities for screen and live designers across Australia. She was the co-initiator/writer/researcher of Performance Design in Australia, published by Craftsman House in 2001.
Imogen has lectured at the University of Notre Dame, College Of Fine Arts (formerly COFA, now University of NSW School of Art & Design) and Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE).
Imogen is currently the Sustainability Manager for the National Institute of Dramatic Art.

Monique’s work has spanned across local, national and international spaces to create meaningful, inclusive and sustainable experiences for the community to enjoy.

Paula Martins is a Visiting Scholar at Queensland College of Art and Design, Griffith University, and a PhD candidate in Performing Arts at the University of São Paulo's School of Communications and Arts. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and works as a Costume and Set Designer. She is a member of USP's Center for Stage Costum
Paula Martins is a Visiting Scholar at Queensland College of Art and Design, Griffith University, and a PhD candidate in Performing Arts at the University of São Paulo's School of Communications and Arts. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and works as a Costume and Set Designer. She is a member of USP's Center for Stage Costume, Clothing, and Technology research group and a Research Assistant at the Performance + Ecology Research Lab (P+ERL). Her PhD research explores the intersection of sustainability and performance art through an ecoscenographic lens, examining how ecological philosophy can transform contemporary design and artistic practices in theater and performance. Paula will be fulfilling the role until early 2026, and will work with and hand over to our next PG Reg, Megan Parker.

She is enlivened by the collaborative experience of theatre making, particularly when involved with the emerging practitioners training at WAAPA. Megan also has experience in design, production and management for her own independent fashion label, Petals in Disarray. In addition to Costume, she has studied Illustration and Printmaking and is passionate about visual communication in the theatre industry.
